Kawan Lama Group is the identity given to a group of multi-sectoral business units., each of which is engaged in six business pillars, Industrial & Commercial, Consumer Retail, Food & Beverage, Property & Hospitality, Commercial Technology, and Manufacturing & Engineering. Kawan Lama refers to friends who have known and trusted each other for a long period.

In 1955 Mr. Wong Jin, the father of Mr. Kuncoro Wibowo (the Chairman of Kawan Lama Group), began the journey of Kawan Lama Group from a 3 x 3 m² hardware store in Glodok.

As of mid of 2024, Kawan Lama Group has been operating more than 1,200 stores across more than 70 cities in Indonesia.

Kawan Lama Foundation manages all Kawan Lama Group social activities. This foundation is focused on four pillars, they are Social, Education, Environment, and Health.

Distribution centers are a warehouse which delivers products to entire Kawan Lama Group store network and to the customers.

There are 14 distribution centers divided into three types, National, Regional, and Satellite. While each distribution centers covers a different operational area, all of them are fully integrated.

Through Kawan Lama Foundation, Kawan Lama Group has carried out various social contributions including donating products to prevent the spread of COVID-19 such as infrared thermometers, masks, hand sanitizer, hand soaps, disinfectant liquid, and more. There are also ambulances donation, more than a million tree saplings donation, blood donations, city landmarks cleaning act, mobile libraries, and toys donations under Toys for Kids program, and more.

Kawan Lama Group has more than 35,000 employees as of end of 2023.

There is a management trainee program exclusively for bachelor's degree not older than 24 years old. This program is suitable for those who are interested in exploring various roles in retail and sales (B2B, F&B, and Head Office).
