EYE SOUL, part of Kawan Lama Group, in collaboration with the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation, held EYE SOUL GOES TO SCHOOL, a routine program that visits schools to help support the Indonesian young generation’s eyes.

In a series of events done on 24 October and 9 November in SDN Pluit 03, there were 80 students and 20 teachers undertook eyes check, got education about the importance of maintaining eye health, and received EYE SOUL glasses with lenses from PT Timur Raya Lestari, for free.

On the first day, a team of Optical Refractionists (Refraksionis Optisien/RO) EYE SOUL, together with the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation,, visited SDN 03 Pluit to check the students and teachers’ eyes health condition and also defined the lenses they needed. After that, those with visual impairment could choose the EYE SOUL glasses frame they liked.

Two weeks later, the EYE SOUL team revisited SDN Pluit 03 to give the glasses which were ready to use and invited the student’s parents to attend a short seminar about proper glasses maintenance and various important information about the importance of maintaining eye health for the student’s future.

Bertha Hapsari, Vice President of Marketing Communication of EYE SOUL, said, “The eye’s function as the sense of sight to support our daily activities is vital for everyone, including the child's growth and development process. Unfortunately, many Indonesian children have visual impairment or early refraction. That’s why understanding the importance of proper maintenance and routine eye health condition checks is required. Based on that, we undertake EYE SOUL GOES TO SCHOOL, an initiative started by our care to support Indonesian children’s sight so they can keep studying well. We valued the shared vision with Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation in this program, so we could collaborate to help the students and teachers of SDN Pluit 03 to get the glasses and knowledge they need to maintain their sight health.”
