From a Humble Shop, to a Multisector Business in Indonesia
The name “Kawan Lama” was first stated by Mr. Wong Jin during a casual conversation in 1955. From that moment, our journey began.

Our Founder, Mr. Wong Jin - father of Mr. Kuncoro Wibowo - opened a 3 x 3 m² hardware store in Glodok, Jakarta.

1968
Mr. Kuncoro Wibowo, the second generation of Kawan Lama Group, employed modern management approaches and expanded product supply providers to several countries.

1980
Transformed into PT Kawan Lama Sejahtera, followed by opening branches and distribution centers in several cities. To support the massive expansion, the headquarters moved to a four-story building in Glodok Jaya, Jakarta.

Sensorindo was established under PT Multi Sesindo Selaras, providing collections of electronic security and surveillance equipment.

The establishment of PT Indo Kompresigma (KAESER Compressors Indonesia) as the provider of high-quality compressors, accessories, and parts.

ACE Indonesia came as the sole license holder in Indonesia.

Depo Teknik was established, carrying the slogan "Industrial Tools Center” in Glodok commercial center, Jakarta.

Krisbow brand was established, offering a wide range of affordable high-quality tools to give more options to society.

The first INFORMA store was opened in West Jakarta as the most complete furnishings and lifestyle store for home and business.

ACE Indonesia conducted an initial public offering (IPO) and was listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange under the stock symbol ACES.

Golden Dacron was established as a manufacturing company which produces various types of mattresses, pillows, office chairs, and doormats from its factory in Cikande, Banten.

Toys Kingdom, which provides complete collections of toys and collectibles for all ages, opened its first store in Central Jakarta.

The first Living World mall in Tangerang, Banten, started its operation, carrying the concept of “Home Living, Lifestyle & Eat-ertainment”.
